Pipe Cutting
After the pipes have been cured, they are cut to length on a semi-automatic saw, which has two parallel blades rotating at a distance of exactly 6 m to each other. Both pipe spigots are then beveled and finally sealed.
Coupling Inspection
Couplings are checked for dimensional accuracy (coupling length, inside and outside diameter, etc) and leak tightness (leak test to ÖNORM, DIN, CEN and others).
Final Pipe Inspection
Before the pipes with mounted couplings are shipped, they undergo visual inspection. The inside and outside pipe surfaces are closely examined for any damage and occluded foreign bodies, which rarely occurs.
Laboratory Pipe Testing
The HOBAS Sampling Rate is every first pipe after production start-up of a new pipe type and at least 1 % of the production. The test parameters applied are:
- Hydrostatic burst pressure
- Longitudinal tensile strength
- Axial tensile force
- Dimensions (outer diameter, wallthickness, linerthickness)
- Leaktightness over a duration of 6 min and failure pressure
- Stiffness
- Ultimate ring deflection
- Loss on ignition to control the amount of constituents (glass, reinforcing material, resin, sand)
Pipes and Coupling Marking
Immediately after production the pipes are marked.
- with the standard no. they are produced according to (DN, PN, SN, Diameter Series)
- with a consecutive no. that allows to identify any pipe as well as all relevant process parameter related to the specific pipe even after years
- special quality marks depending on approvals by different associations (DVGW, ÖVGW, SVGW, GRIS, KIWA-Approval and others) and third party certification.
