Certificates ShaftLine

The certification and test symbol TÜV octagon shows that a product, in addition to meeting the
prescribed safety and quality requirements, also satisfies high quality demands. The basis for the test
symbol is a certificate which is issued after a successful voluntary third-party monitoring of product
and manufacturing location based on the test and certification system created by the TÜV Süd.
The product standards EN 1796, EN 14364, ISO 10639 and ISO 10467 contain requirements for GRP
(glass fibre reinforced plastics) pipe systems based on unsaturated polyester resin regardless of the
respective manufacturing process (e.g. centrifugal casting or winding process). In order to specify the
high-quality product properties of the HOBAS® CC-GRP pipe systems in more detail, a special quality
and monitoring specification for centrifugal-cast GF-UP pipes was introduced by the TÜV. The
requirements of this quality specification include not just the requirements of the EN and ISO pipe
system standards named above in the currently-valid version, but they also specify requirements
exceeding these for proof of long lifespan and the high quality level. The following criteria in addition to the EN and ISO norms are specified and monitored in the quality specification, adherence to which is confirmed by the TÜV octagon test symbol:

  • Detailed raw material specification
  • Proof of fire behavior if agreed upon with the client
  • Proof and specification of thermal coefficient of expansion
  • Detailed description of pipe wall construction (pipe design)
  • Proof and specification of the resistance to cyclic internal pressure of pipes
  • Proof and specification of sewer pipe resistance against alkaline attack from the inside (Strain Corrosion Resistance with sodium hydroxide at high pH)
  • Proof and specification of the abrasion resistance of sewer pipes
  • Proof and specification of the axial compressive strength of jacking pipes
  • Detailed description of the coupling system (FWC SealThight Couplings)
  • Long-term leak tightness of couplings
  • Detailed test plans for pipes, couplings, fittings, raw materials and manufacturing process
