HOBAS® WaterLine®
Hydropower
In order for water power to be converted into electricity when it flows through the turbines, the pipeline has to have a low coefficient of roughness. With a virtual mirror finish and roughness from 0.005 to 0.01 mm, less pressure loss and higher mass flow for the diameter can be expected.
In other words, smaller pipe diameters may be used, thus saving costs. Since the pipes often have to be laid in mountainous and rough terrain, the lightness of the material in HOBAS pipes is also an advantage which tips the scales in the decision-making process: laying times are reduced and costs therefore lower.
Potable Water Supply
HOBAS CC-GRP Pipe Systems are widely used for potable water and have been tested and approved by the water authorities in many countries like Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, USA.
Irrigation
Irrigation means to transport water to places with deficiency or irregularity of water supply. HOBAS CC-GRP Pipe Systems for irrigation, realized with pressure pipes, are available in a wide diameter range for different pressure and stiffness classes. Construction companies and project engineers prefer HOBAS Pipes for irrigation for various reasons, which are, in this combination and completeness, unique to HOBAS CC-GRP Pipe Systems:
* easy to lay
* easy realization of bends
* good value for money
* abrasion resistance
* corrosion resistance
